Hit a deer on my way to work

3am, middle of the highway. Noticed it maybe 1 second before hitting it, cruise control was set at 70, I got down to maybe 50 when I hit.

After pulling the front out a but by hand

The damage dosent look bad but both the bumper support and member are bent to shit, hoods bent around, radiator supports a tab bent too. Needs new high beams, bumper cover, bumper skeleton, hood, and bumper main support.

That’s not a very big deer, probably the least damage I've ever seen from hitting one. But the important thing is you’re okay.

It was a young doe, part of the damage not looking bad is the plastic bumper popping back into shape after the hit. The Styrofoam backing shattered, and for the center aluminum bumper to bend it had to pull the frame rails closer toge ther.

The bumper cover will get reused for now, the support and member will get replaced along with the hood and high beams.

It dosent look bad once it’s u nbolted from the bent up support frame, what you can’t see in the pics are the tears and shape distortions.

Damn, that's rough. I live in Ohio and drive through a lot of twisties in the woods. I don't know how I haven't hit a deer yet.

I've gone 4 years living in a rural area without a hit, but commuting a long ways at 2:30-4am stacks the odds against you

Yeah, I've had more than a few close calls, all of them after 2 AM. Glad you're fine and the SC is mostly okay.
